Below are comments from our readers in commemoration of the blog’s One year anniversary.

Okechuku Amako, Department of Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria.

First, I congratulate EDDYKURRENT BLOG on its one year anniversary. In the past 365days, I have been a regular visitor to the blog and must say it has been able to cover issues on the Healthcare Sector especially in Nigeria as it affects dealings with work relationship between medical doctors and other health workers; bring firsthand account of some of the plight, ordeal and daily experiences of medical students and doctors in Nigerian Medical schools and Hospitals respectively. I commend the Chief Blogger ‘Eddy Uwoghiren’ for being able to cover and report on National Newspapers events related to campus extracurricular activities, conferences held by medical students/Doctors and daily Medical decisions faced by them which often place them in-between their religious belief and the oath of practice they swore to.

Mirabel Akure, Nigeria Chairman, Standing Committee on Medical Education and Research (SCOMER) , Federation of African Medical Students Association (FAMSA)

In the last 365days I have enjoyed reading articles on EDDYKURRENT BLOG. They have not only be entertaining but have also been thought provoking. I love that Eddy has been able to get articles medically related not just locally but internationally and I have enjoyed reading everyone of them. Especially knowing that these articles are written by medical students and Doctors alike.
I Don't think the blog should include non medical write ups. I think it should remain as a medical blog because that's what makes it unique. One can always get non medical write ups outside. This blog has helped Ogbemudia Eddy Uwoghiren create a niche for himself which I Love.
I Think Eddy is a great writer there are very few persons who can combine the medical career with writing, many loose it along the way. Am glad you haven't let yours die. Pls keep it up.I know you'll make a great medical journalist. We need more persons like you, unbiased individuals who would be at the interface of Medicine and the Media because the future of improved health care is inter sectoral in which the media plays a great role. Eddy Keep it up!

How time flies. 365days already gone. EDDYKURRENT BLOG has lived up to its mission statement of rendering unbiased, thought provoking, informed commentary and showcasing the scholarly write-ups of medical students/Young Doctors. The Chief Blogger has been able to prove that it is possible for medical students to engage in extracurricular activities and still do well in school. It amazes me how he combines his practice as a Journalist, Photographer, Blogging and Medical Studies. My prayer is that his source of strength will not fail.
Interestingly, the Chief Blogger ‘EDDY UWOGHIREN’ is the student after me in the Medical School register. I was motivated by his determination and hardwork to start blogging. Currently, I blog @ www.thecolursinstories.blogspot.com and www.beautifulcoilyhairs.blogspot.com where I tell stories and share tips on keeping good hair.
As the blog clocks one year today, it is my prayer that it grows bigger and better. More power to your elbow.

Alinedoh Carlson MbiNkani Bsc (Biochemistry), Catholic University of Cameroon (CATUC), Bamenda, Cameroon.

The blog has been awesome. I appreciate and congratulate the team of bloggers for their effort thus far in trying to shinelight on thick and thin of medical practice.
Though it is more of medical students/Doctors and less of of other health professionals. I would encourage the Team to expand the scope by including non-medical professionals and students. The medical personnel is not an island. Making post out of their field could affect them directly or indirectly. Eddy Uwoghiren, please keep up the the good work you have been doing with the blog in the past 365 days. I can’t say your best work has been done because I believe the best is yet to come but as of now, great job done .Remain blessed.

Emerald Doreen Mathew, International Chairman, Standing Committee on Publication (SCOPUB), Federation of African Medical Students Association (FAMSA).

Congratulations to you Ogbemudia Eddy Uwoghiren and your team for such an amazing work you have been doing on your blog.Keep it up. FAMSA-SCOPUB, is proud of you.

Philip Okeagu, Department of Medicine, Federal Teaching Hospital (FETHA), Abakiliki, Nigeria.

I will outline my submission as follows;
First, EDDYKURRENT BLOG is the only medical blog I know.
Secondly, It has lived up to its mission statement of rendering unbiased, thought provoking, informed commentary and showcasing the scholarly writeup of medical students and Young doctors locally and Nationally.

Thirdly, being a blog for sharing the ordeal, plight, achievements and daily life experience of medical doctors/young doctors, gives it a special tone.

Fourthly, I have read nothing but good post from the blog.

Finally, Keep up the good work you have started with the bog ‘Eddy Uwoghiren’

I will outline my assessment of the blog as follow
First, EDDYKURRENT BLOG for the past 365days has shown that it could compete with other Blogs in the nearest future.
Secondly, the Blog have lived up to its mission statement of showcasing the scholarly wrietups of medical students/young Doctors; rendering first hand account of the plight & daily life experience of medical students
Including non medical writeup wouldn't be necessary. EDDYKURRENT BLOG is unique because it is a 'mono blog' and that's amazing. I know some people would find the Blog boring, especially; Non-Medics. Nevertheless, you shouldn't expand it. Also, the blog has been engaging in the last one year and I have never been offended by any of the post in the past 365 days.

I wish to suggest that; Eddykurrent blog Should step up in posting Articles regularly. Most times, when I visit the Blog, I do not see new update/Articles. Finally, Congratulations Eddykurrent blog for your one year anniversary. More power to your elbow.

Let me start by appreciating EDDYKURRENT BLOG for giving readers the opportunity to express themselves
EDDYKURRENT BLOG has come to stay. And for the fact that it has come to stay means that things are really been done to maintain it.

Firstly, EDDYKURRENT BLOG has been captivating; it has been in the habit of making the readers sit at the edge of the couch while reading its post. And it has been carrying everybody along. It is not in the habit of using ambiguous, but simple words, yet passing its message across.

The mission has always been lived up to. Ranging from captivating to educative, instructive and even to relaxation purposes.
I don't think that the scope should be expanded. It is not about being "Jack of all trade, but in being a Master of one". Having chosen the niche of medical write-ups, I think it should be continued.
Expanding the horizon might lead to loss of the initial focus
I haven't seen any post as being offending, maybe because I have always read with an open mind.
I humbly advice that the number of posts per page be reduced. It looks so stuffy that some readers don't find it really interesting.
And they say that "a picture speaks a thousand word". So, I humbly advice that some relevant pictures be attached to some certain posts in order to get the attention of the reader and to add some spice to a post. I must Commend your courage, You Are The Best!. CONGRATULATIONS!
